Age Teacher-to-Child Ratio Number of Classes
Infant 1:4 3
Toddler 1:5 3
Twos 1:7 4
Preschool 1:9 3
Kindergarten-prep 1:12 1

The ratios at the center are designed to support one-on-one interactions between the teachers and children; an in-depth understanding by the teachers of the individual needs of each child; and the formulation of consistent caregiving routines based on the teacher’s knowledge of the individual children. These teacher-to-child ratios also support enhanced development, particularly language development.

Bright Horizons successful core curriculum World at Their Fingertips is used at the center. To learn more about the Bright Horizons curriculum, please visit brighthorizons.com/early-education-preschool/proven-approach.

Yes, the center has a dedicated STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Lab, as well as an Art Studio.

St. Jude employees who are benefit-eligible (60% FTE) can enroll their legally dependent children. Enrollment is not open to contractors or the community.

Register with Bright Horizons through its Family Information Center and submit a $100 registration fee per child. After registration, families will be contacted by a Bright Horizons representative.

In addition to the tuition, you will be required to pay the following:

  • Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $100 is due upon submission of the enrollment interest form. After the enrollment interest period ends, families will be contacted by a Bright Horizons representative to discuss enrollment or wait list status.
  • Enrollment Deposit: An enrollment deposit equal to two weeks tuition will be due when the enrollment offer is accepted. The enrollment deposit will be applied to the first two weeks of tuition. If a family chooses not to enroll their child after accepting the enrollment offer, the enrollment deposit will be forfeited.
  • Annual Re-Registration Fee: A $50 fee per child will be required each subsequent year to cover annual administrative and licensing fees.

At all Bright Horizons centers, rigorous health and safety practices are a foundation of the way they care for children. These include:

  • An illness and daily health check policy that strives to mitigate the spread of illnesses
  • Frequent cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces and toys; frequent laundering of soft items
  • Regular maintenance of the center, equipment and supplies; updating and replacing items as needed
  • Secure entrances to all centers
  • Strict handwashing and sanitary policies to prevent the spread of illnesses
  • Curriculum that emphasizes healthy practices for children

Strict safety and security procedures are designed to keep families and staff protected. Jude Security also provides security guards.

Bright Horizons works to recruit and hire the highest quality teachers. Their staff are nurturers as well as educators who encourage learning through exploration and partnership with parents. They re-trained to deliver the highest standard of care. All candidates undergo a thorough screening, including a Bright Horizons enhanced background check and state-required background checks. All teachers must meet state educational licensing and additional center requirements.

Bright Horizons offers many resources to support families' efforts to nurture children's development, be actively involved in their education and balance work/life demands. See www.brighthorizons.com/family-resources for more details on these tools.

Each year, Bright Horizons will conduct an extensive market study to determine the appropriate annual tuition rates.

Toddler Tuition $550
Twos Tuition $545

After families register, they are placed on the waitlist. Please note that your registration does not guarantee a space for your child.

Space is offered based on date of registration, age group, requested start date, and availability. We will work with you and make every effort to enroll your child in our center. While on the waitlist, families will receive three system generated emails.

Families have the option to confirm their interest in Bright Horizons, update their requested start date or request removal from the waitlist. Your Requested Enrollment status is automatically updated based on your response. When space is available, you'll receive a phone call or email prior to your requested start date to offer you a space and begin the enrollment process. If we are unable to offer you a space, we will notify you 90 days or sooner, prior to your requested start date.

Our meals begin with Breakfast (7-7:30) , Morning Snack (9-9:30) followed by  Lunch (11-11:30), and  Afternoon Snack (2:45-3)  . We do offer a late evening snack to go for those children who are at the center at 6:00. Our daily lunch is catered by Eurest Dining Services. The menus are put together by both the Eurest Chef and the Center Director.

Bright Horizons conducts a comprehensive background check on all prospective employees and frequent visitors. The background check consists of a county criminal record check for the past seven years performed in all counties that a person has lived, worked or attended school. In addition to the county criminal search , a sex offender search, OFAC search and a social security verification trace are also conducted. For all location employees, program licensing background checks required by the state are also performed.

For more information about this relationship, click here.

All Bright Horizons staff are trained regularly in CPR, even if not required by the state. First Aid is taught as required by state licensing agency/regulations so that you can feel confident that your child is safe and receiving the best care possible at our center.

Yes, Bright Horizons has an open door policy.  You are encouraged to visit your child anytime.

We suggest you register with Bright Horizons.  You can select up to three locations to be registered at, including the center you are most interested in.  By registering, you are confirming your strong interest in all three centers.  We will add you to our wait list and you will be offered a space as soon as one becomes available.  While waiting for a space to become available at your first choice location, many families will choose to enroll at their second or third choice temporarily until space becomes available at the center they are most interested in.  In many centers, a child currently enrolled at a Bright Horizons location has priority over the general community so enrolling at another location will not only solve your care needs but will also give you additional priority in getting into your first preference.  Our goal is to accommodate families as soon as space allows.  During the entire process, we will keep in touch with you regarding your status.

The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It remains open year-round; closing only on the days St. Jude is closed.

We encourage any family interested in center information, regular updates and invitations to the many events we are planning, to contact us.

We have three separate playgrounds. One is for Preschool children, Toddler children, and school aged children.

To find other locations, please visit www.brighthorizons.com/locator.

Bright Horizons will follow the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) recommendations for staff-to-student ratios at the facility and also plans to pursue NAEYC accreditation for the center. NAEYC has developed standards to define and recognize quality child care programs. To be accredited, a child care program must meet a variety of strict criteria, including having a welltrained faculty, good staff-child ratios and group sizes and a comprehensive curriculum, as well as meet stringent health and safety standards. The program must also provide meaningful opportunities for family involvement.

We provide comprehensive, optimum development of each child through mind, body, social self, and character by approaching life as an invitation to learn. We encourage skills to guide in confidence and competent lifelong learning. We strive to encourage each child in becoming a confident and competent user of technology and developing emotional intelligence through personal power and social skills. We prepare each child for academic excellence by developing the social and cognitive skills necessary for school success. We facilitate each child in achieving excellence in language and literacy, developing an engaged, reflective, inquisitive mind and appreciation of science and math.  We thrive on happy days, wonderful relationships and a World of experience.

The center is located at 701 N. Main Street, Memphis, TN, 38107.
