No Mess Painting

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use hands and fingers to explore and interact with the environment

Materials Needed:

  • Zip-top bag (quart or gallon size)
  • Tempera paint (or corn syrup and food coloring)
  • Cardstock

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. Place the cardstock in the zip-top bag. Add a few spoonfuls of paint. Alternatively, add a few spoonfuls of corn syrup along with a few drops of food coloring.
  2. Seal the bag tightly.
  3. Show your child how to use his fingers to press on the bag and move the paint.
