Neighborhood Bingo

Little boy observing garden and plants at day care

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to observe, explore, and describe their environment to gain understanding of people, places, and things.

Materials Needed:

  • Neighborhood Walk Bingo Sheet (attached printable PDF)
  • Marker

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

  1. Keeping all current safety guidelines in mind, take a walk around your backyard or neighborhood to see if you can find the items listed on the bingo sheet.
  2. Make a mark with your marker. If you get 4 across or down, you get a bingo.

Extension: Make two copies of the bingo sheet, cut the squares out, and use them like a memory game (place the pictures upside down, turning over two at a time to try to make a match).
