Teachers and Coaches and Leaders, Oh My! What We’re Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Group of Bright Horizons employees from different departments

At Bright Horizons, we’re big believers in family…and saying thank you…and HEART (it’s right there on our careers page).

So, Thanksgiving? Let’s just say it’s a pretty big deal around here.

And this year (as in all years), we’ve got some big things to be thankful for.

Such as:

Boss ladies: Who’s that featured in the Boston Globe? Why it’s our own CHRO Maribeth Bearfield showing how women who excel do great things for their companies.

Why we’re thankful: Women-led companies are awesome (“Companies where women make up more than half the executive team scored higher in key areas as ranked by employees,” writes the Globe). Just one of the reasons we’re so thankful for Maribeth – and all the amazing ladies we’re lucky enough to call leaders!

Topnotch dads: What happens when work bumps up against dad time? This VP dad called, timeout

Why we’re thankful: Vocal dads (and we have lots right here at BH) speak volumes. Extra credit: when dads can help on the home front, moms are freed to pitch in at work (see women leaders, above).

Awesome Consultants: Was that our contact center that went lightening-speed through International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) certification? Why yes, yes it was.

Why we’re thankful: Three words: We. Got. This. Nothing speaks louder when an employee calls with a care emergency. Child care? Elder care? They got it. You rock, folks!

Ace coaches: Ready, set – education fair! Energetic advisors helped more than 1,000 wannabe college students (all client employees) start down the road to college.

Why we’re thankful: Employees want school; employers need employees. Both start with adult learners who say, “I can do this!” Thanks, all!

Ace coaches, teen edition: Hundreds of schools, thousands of scholarships, thousands more in financial aid – our team of former college admissions officers just rocked another admissions season for client employees.

Why we’re thankful: Two words…Varsity Blues.

Amazing teachers: 120,000 children x 5 days a week x oodles of inspiration.

Why we’re grateful: We could tell you. But we’ll let this speak for itself. Teachers. Are. Awesome.

Multi generations: Gen Z bring the number of generations in the workforce up to, count ‘em, five.

Why we’re thankful: Millennials, Boomers, Gen X, Gen Z, and the Greatest Generation…we love ‘em all. It says so right here. Say it loud: everyone welcome, OK?

Unpredictable children: C’mon: this.

Why we’re grateful: What’s NOT to be thankful for? And have we mentioned we love back-up care?

Finally, a heartfelt thanks to all the clients, colleagues, and families for giving us so much to be grateful for. We especially love it when they write us poems. It wouldn’t be the same without you.

Happy Thanksgiving!
