Snack Tray

Adult cutting up veggies for snack time at home

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to develop increasing care for self, others, and the environment.

Materials Needed:

  • Healthy finger foods, such as sliced berries, kiwi, cheese, cucumber, turkey, or hard-boiled egg (use bite-size pieces of soft foods that aren’t a choking hazard).
  • Dips such as yogurt

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction

Directions:

  1. Place one food in each section of the ice cube tray. Tell your child the name of each food.
  2. Offer the ice cube tray along with a small bowl of dip.
  3. Encourage your child to try the foods, along with the dip.

Even children who are hesitant eaters enjoy choosing from a variety of beautifully presented, bright foods.
