Bright Horizons Ranked #1 on Boston Globe Top Places to Work List

WATERTOWN, Mass., [November 7, 2011] – Bright Horizons Family Solutions® today announced that for the second year in a row, it has been named as the Number One Place to Work in Massachusetts by the Boston Globe (large company category). The first place ranking on the Globe’s fourth annual Top Places to Work list once again highlights how Bright Horizons employees work together to create and carry out a culture that is inspiring, supportive and fulfilling.

“As we approach the end of our 25th anniversary year and we reflect on our past, it is without a doubt the spirit and dedication of Bright Horizons employees that stand out as the biggest constants in our history,” said Bright Horizons CEO David Lissy. “We work to help employers and working families to be successful together so we are grateful everyday that we have as part of our own family so many individuals who are committed to our mission and who also say they love their jobs and they love working at Bright Horizons. Congratulations to all of them for being named number one again!”

The Top Places to Work list recognizes companies in Massachusetts, where Bright Horizons is headquartered, for their supportive work environment. Rankings are based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility and values and ethics.

Giving back to the communities where Bright Horizons employees live and work has always been a core part of Bright Horizons mission and culture. To celebrate the organization’s 25th anniversary this year, 25 employees were chosen from across the US and UK to go on a service trip to New York City where they created a much-needed literacy center, community space and parent resource room in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. Nearly 1,000 employees applied to represent Bright Horizons on the trip, which took place in October in partnership with Jumpstart and the Hunts Point Alliance for Children.

The rankings in the Globe’s Top Places to Work list are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. The full report can be found at www.boston.com/topworkplaces.
