Bright Horizons Among Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts

Bright Horizons Family Solutions®, a leading provider of high-quality child care, early education, educational counseling, and other services designed to help employers and families address the challenges of work and life, today announced it has been named to the 5th spot in The Boston Globe Magazine and The Commonwealth Institute’s (TCI) 2015 list of Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts.

The annual list celebrates organizations and individuals that have made a significant impact on the Commonwealth’s economy and have established themselves as visionary leaders of successful companies. The Commonwealth Institute (TCI) is a nonprofit organization founded to foster women-led businesses. In Massachusetts alone there are nearly 200,000 women-owned companies employing more than 175,000 people.

“At Bright Horizons, we are fortunate to have women leading teams at every level of our organization and our board, and we are honored to be recognized alongside so many leading companies, including many of our clients,” said Bright Horizons CEO David Lissy. “We are proud to partner with employers across Massachusetts and the country who have adopted programs that support the needs of working families and have created strong workplace cultures that allow all employees to reach their highest potential.”

The list is developed using a formula devised by the Boston Globe magazine, which took into account a number of factors, including: revenue, operating budget, number of full-time employees in the state, workplace and management diversity and innovative projects.

“Throughout our history, the true strength of Bright Horizons has been its people,” said Mary Ann Tocio, Bright Horizons Board Member and retired President and COO. “The important work that Bright Horizons does to support the families and clients we have the privilege to serve wouldn’t be possible without a team of professionals who are dedicated to honesty, accountability, respect, teamwork and helping others in everything that they do.”

Companies named to the 14th Annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts list were announced at an award breakfast today. The complete list of honorees was published in the Sunday, October 25th edition of The Boston Globe Magazine.
