EY Celebrates Take Your Child to Work Day

May 2, 2019 – Bright Horizons client EY celebrated Take Your Child to Work Day last week when approximately 80 children of EY employees, ages 6-16, visited the corporate headquarters in New York City to create Happiness Bags for children at the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s Bright Space at Regent Family Residence.

The Bright Space at Regent Family Residence, an Upper West Side shelter managed by the Volunteers of America that serves 130 homeless families, including children, opened in February thanks to a partnership between international design firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), Bright Horizons, and the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children.

The children at EY donated books and spent the morning decorating gift bags, creating bookmarks, decorating wrapping paper, wrapping the donated books, and making friendship bracelets – one to keep and one to give. They then finished filling the bags with items that would make the children at the Bright Space happy, including bubbles, crayons and coloring books.

In addition to creating the Happiness Bags, children also spent the day having breakfast with their parents and meeting several members of EY’s senior leadership team. The children read Stone Soup and discussed the importance of sharing and acts of kindness toward others.
