Bright Horizons Ranked #1 on Boston Globe Top Places to Work List

WATERTOWN, Mass., [November 8, 2010] – Bright Horizons Family Solutions® today announced that it has been named as the Number One Place to work in Massachusetts by the Boston Globe (large company category). The first place ranking on the Globe’s third annual Top Places to Work list highlights Bright Horizons’ mission to supporting working families and their employers while fostering a culture where its own employees feel supported, valued and fulfilled.

“Being a great place to work has always been a priority for Bright Horizons and a core part of our mission. It is simply not possible for us to deliver on our mission to make a difference in the lives of those we serve without the passion, talent, and engagement of those who make up our Bright Horizons family here in Massachusetts and around the world,” said Bright Horizons CEO David Lissy. “Our work is an intensely human service so having strong culture and work environment is directly connected to our reputation for delivering high quality care, education, and service to the children, families and employers we serve. Our employees deserve all the credit for this award and we congratulate them for this and the work they do each and every day.”

The Top Places to Work list recognizes companies in Massachusetts, where Bright Horizons is headquartered, for their supportive work environment. Rankings are based on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity/inclusion, career development, family-friendly flexibility and values and ethics. Bright Horizons ratings in the areas of company leadership, diversity/inclusion and ethics were particularly high, helping to secure the top spot for the organization overall.

The number one ranking comes on the heels of Bright Horizons being named one of the “7 Wonders of the Work/life World” at Working Mother magazine’s annual Work/life Congress where the magazine celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Working Mother “100 Best Companies” list. Bright Horizons was recognized as the premier solutions provider that put corporate child care on the map.

The rankings in the Globe 100’s Top Places to Work list are based on survey information collected by Workplace Dynamics, an independent company specializing in employee engagement and retention. The full report can be found at www.boston.com/topworkplaces.
