Bright Horizons Named to Boston Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work” List
WATERTOWN, MA – (May 2, 2013) – Bright Horizons Family Solutions®, a leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, early education, back-up care, and work/life solutions, has been recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the Boston Business Journal in the large companies category. This marks the seventh year in a row that Bright Horizons has been named to the list.
“We are proud to be named to the BBJ’s ‘Best Places to Work’ list,” said Bright Horizons Chief Executive Officer David Lissy. “This honor comes at a time, in the wake of the Boston Marathon tragedy, when we are experiencing our greatest strength as an organization – and that is our ability to come together as a family, to comfort and support each other, and to perform at our best when circumstances seem at their worst. From our child care centers in the Back Bay and throughout Boston to our headquarters in Watertown, and the employees and families in the impacted areas, our Bright Horizons family rallied together to support one another and families and educators around the world who were touched by the events. Their spirit and perseverance during this time was both inspiring and humbling, and we were reminded once again of the strength of our people and our culture.”
Organizations on the Best Places to Work list ranked highest among the over 400 companies whose employees filled out an anonymous survey. The survey project to determine who makes the list was launched in January by the Boston Business Journal in conjunction with market research firm Quantum Workplace of Omaha, NE. Companies were evaluated on the results of more than 18,000 employee-satisfaction surveys. Employees answered questionnaires that addressed such factors as their pride in the company, company encouragement, support and recognition of achievement and relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
The companies on this year’s list will be recognized during an event on June 13 and profiled in a special supplement of the Boston Business Journal on June 14. Learn more about the Best Places to Work program.
