April 17, 2026 – Bright Horizons participated in the Week of the Young Child®, an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). For the third consecutive year, Bright Horizons was the proud sponsor of Artsy Thursday, a day to celebrate the joy and learning children experience when engaged in creative art making.

The Week of the Young Child®, which took place April 11 - April 17, is a fun-filled week celebrating the importance of early learning. This year was especially meaningful as NAEYC marked its 100th anniversary, honoring a century of dedication to young children and the educators who make a difference every day.

All week Bright Horizons centers nationwide encouraged children and their families to take part in center activities that promoted learning and development. Enrolled and community families were invited to stop by the center and unleash their inner artist. Center staff displayed the latest art projects from the children while families participated in hands-on art experiences like creating a community mural, sensory painting, and writing notes of appreciation for military families in honor of Month of the Military Child.

Other activities planned during the week included Music Monday where children created a kitchen band using a variety of pots and pans to compare sounds and make music. During Work Together Wednesday, teachers and children worked together to engineer a large sculpture made of natural materials.
