The University of Scranton Early Learning Center Recognized as the Top Child Care Center in Scranton

February 5, 2024 –  The University of Scranton Early Learning Center was recently recognized by community members as the top child care center in Scranton, PA. Each year, Scranton residents vote for their favorite community businesses and organizations in a variety of categories including childcare services, and this year the center earned platinum status. 

“While we have always known what an amazing center we have, for our families and the community to continue to recognize the hard work, dedication, and love our team has for educating young children, means the world to each individual that works here,” said Debbie Jakubczyk, Center Director at The University of Scranton Early Learning Center. 

The NAEYC accredited center offers the Discovery Driven Learning® approach, which encourages learning through play. The center’s classrooms are equipped with developmentally appropriate learning materials and age-specific outdoor learning areas to foster an interest in the environment. 

Located near the University of Scranton campus, the center often has university professors join their teachers in the classroom. The professors’ visits expose the children to new ideas and experiments and encourage development of art, science, reading, and math skills.
