June 21, 2021 – The Bright Horizons community celebrated Juneteenth in a number of ways.

The teachers and staff at the Bernice E. Lavin Early Childhood Education Center in Chicago, IL honored Juneteenth by recognizing the color red with red velvet cupcakes and strawberry Crush soda. Center director, Tierra Burton said, “Many Juneteenth celebrations include a variety of foods that are often red. Red symbolizes strength, ingenuity, and resilience. As we (Bright Horizons employees) continue to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion we acknowledge the liberation of Black Americans and honor the resilience, solidarity and culture of the Black community.”

In addition, Bright Horizons Chief People and Inclusion Officer, Felicia Robinson shared a heartfelt message with employees. “The work we do helps dreams come alive -- and that has a special significance for me as we approach Juneteenth and what it has meant for the dreams of so many Americans,” said Felicia.
