Frequently Asked Questions

Bright Horizons will hold space for no longer than 30 days. After the 30 day period, you must enroll your child, or the space will be offered to another family on the wait pool.

Bright Horizons was founded more than 30 years ago and partners with more than 1000 employers across the U.S., as well as in Europe, Canada and India. Their client list includes half of those named to FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies” and more than three-fourths of the companies on Working Mother magazine’s “100 Best” list. Bright Horizons operates centers in communities, as well as onsite at major employers.

If you are interested in enrolling your child, you will need to complete an enrollment interest form and submit a $150.00 registration fee.

Your family’s status on the waitlist will remain intact until space becomes available and is offered to your family. Families may decline an offer and maintain their current position on the waitlist once. After the second decline their name is moved to the bottom of the waitlist.

The length of time will vary depending on the size of the waitlist and the ages of the children. We will send periodic communications to keep you informed of your status on the waitlist. We will do everything we can to ensure you are offered a space as soon as it becomes available.

Enrollment will be offered to families in the order that their enrollment registration form is received on a first-come, first-served basis.

Employees no longer employed by Podium may continue to use the child care center but their tuition will be adjusted to the community tuition rates the day following employment termination.

Podium employees will have the option of either full-time, part-time or drop-in care. Part-time enrollment will have two options:

                       • 2-day/week (Tuesday/Thursday)
                       • 3-day/week (Mon/Wed/Fri)

Drop in care will be offered if space is available the day care is requested.

Morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack will be provided per day, and are included in the tuition.

No sibling discount is offered at this time.

The center has capacity for 50 children and will serve children ages 6 weeks through 5 years.

Bright Horizons works to recruit and hire the highest quality teachers. Bright Horizons’ staff is nurturers as well as educators who encourage learning through exploration and partnership with parents. They’re trained to deliver the highest standard of care. All candidates undergo a thorough screening, including a Bright Horizons enhanced background check and state-required background checks. All teachers must meet state educational licensing and additional center requirements.

Tuition rates are established in alignment with comparable, high-quality child care centers in the surrounding area.
The monthly first year tuition rates are listed below. These rates are effective for 12 months from the center opening date. Each year, Bright Horizons will conduct an extensive market study to determine the appropriate annual tuition rates.

The capacity per age group and teacher-to-child ratios are summarized below:

  Ratio Group Size
Infants 1:4 8
Toddlers 1:4 8
Twos 1:6 12
Preschool/KinderPrep 1:11 22

The ratios at the center are designed to support one-on-one interactions between the teachers and children, an in-depth understanding by the teachers of the individual needs of each child, and the formulation of consistent care-giving routines based on the teachers' knowledge of the individual children. These teacher-to-child ratios also support enhanced development, particularly language development.

Families will be required to provide notice of intent to withdraw 30 days in advance of their child(ren)’s last day of attendance.

In addition to the tuition, you will be required to pay the following:
• Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee of $150 per child will be due at the time of registration.
• Enrollment Deposit: For enrollments prior to the center opening, an enrollment deposit equal to one month’s tuition will be due when the enrollment offer is accepted. For enrollments after the center opens, an enrollment deposit equal to the first month’s tuition will be required within five business days of accepting the enrollment offer.

Bright Horizons offers many resources to support families’ efforts to nurture children’s development, be actively involved in their education, and balance work/life demands. Bright Horizons Resources can be found at www.brighthorizons.com/familyresources.

This depends on your child’s age, temperament, and level of maturity. General tips for preparing for the first day of child care include:

  • Developing a relationship with your child’s teacher and keeping communication open
  • Labeling all items
  • Making sure your child has the essentials: bottles, extra clothes, diapers, blanket, and more
  • Talking about the first day with your child
  • Setting expectations for the new morning routine
  • Getting ahead of separation anxiety by creating a “goodbye” routine together
