Yes! Cambridge residents can now select a Bright Horizons program on their Cambridge Preschool Program (CPP) application. The application and matching process is exclusively managed by the Office of Early Childhood. Learn more about this Bright Horizons center by scheduling a visit. Yes! Bright Horizons at University Park operates all year long. Our summer program features weekly investigative topics like Adventure in the Arts, Science Sleuth, Nature Explorer, Music Makers, Full STEM Ahead, and more! Contact us today for availability.

This depends on your child’s age, temperament, and level of maturity. General tips for preparing for the first day of child care include:  

 
  • Developing a relationship with your child’s teacher and keeping communication open
  • Labeling all items  
  • Making sure your child has the essentials: bottles, extra clothes, diapers, blanket, and more  
  • Talking about the first day with your child  
  • Setting expectations for the new morning routine
  • Getting ahead of separation anxiety by creating a “goodbye” routine together
