This activity promotes learning by encouraging children to use creativity and imagination in learning and play. Through imaginative play experiences, children increase their vocabulary, learn social skills, such as turn-taking, and begin to make sense of their world.
Materials Needed:
- Pipe cleaners
 - Yarn or cloth, etc. (optional)

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction and independent play.
Directions:
- Encourage your child to experiment with the pipe cleaners, bending and connecting them.
 - Show your child how to make animals and people with the pipe cleaners by bending them into the appropriate shapes. Add yarn, cloth, etc. if desired for hair and clothes.
 - Use the pipe cleaner dolls to act out stories or to represent your family. Try making a house or furniture for them with recycled food boxes.
