  • Inclusive benefits for families
  • Gender-neutral leave
  • Gradual phase-back after parental leave
  • Accessible, affordable childcare

Support for Working Mothers? It’s Just Smart Business

Why all the fuss?

For starters, there’s talent; it’s hard to find. Unemployment is in single digits, and employers need every hand on deck. Then there are working mothers themselves: lots of them. Pew says 70% of moms with children under 18 go to work outside the home, and many of them will dial back careers if the work-conflicts become too tough. Finally, there’s the age women are becoming moms -- when they’re further along in their careers, and more costly to lose. And losing them would indeed be costly, since studies say women are just plain good for business

And winners are showing everyone how it’s done. Phased-in back-to-work programs give women time to adjust. Gender-neutral leave means dads can help, too (a big plus since we know that Mental Load can cost women careers). And while child care for young children factors prominently in winning criteria, Working Mother winners know the school-age years matter, too, with nearly every one of “the best” offering back-up child care -- even for kids who are sick. Because as the New York Times put it recently, “Work-life conflict doesn’t stop after maternity leave.”

“Flexible work, paid leave, support for women's advancement and more,” wrote Working Mother, “these best companies are helping women thrive.”

Yes. They. Are.

Congratulations to all those on the list – especially our 80+clients.

You’re the best!
