Toddlers explore nature through their senses in this open-ended art activity that brings the outside indoors. Discover how natural materials, such as leaves and flowers, can be used to create a masterpiece – and promote learning and development.
Materials Needed:
- Nontoxic natural materials such as leaves and flowers
- Clear Con-Tact Paper™
Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.
Directions:
- Lay a sheet of contact paper on the table or floor. Remove the backing to expose the sticky surface.
- Show your child how to place leaves and flowers on the Contact Paper, leaving an edge around the outside.
- When complete, adhere the contact paper to a glass door or window that receives plenty of sunlight. The light will shine through making a pleasing picture.
Alternatively, display the leaves and flowers on a tray for a few days.
