Gratitude Cards

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to express appreciation and caring.

Materials Needed:

  • Crayons, markers, etc.
  • Paper

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. Discuss the concept of gratitude. Ask children to think about the many people they appreciate in their lives and why they are special.
  2. Ask your child to create cards to express their gratitude to some of the people they most appreciate. Your child may draw pictures, dictate sentiments, or use inventive spelling. They may make cards for relatives, friends, teachers, and neighbors.
  3. Ask, who will get this card? Why did you make this card for ___________?
