- Take note of the agriculture in your area by visiting a farmer’s market or farm stand with your child. Drive through the country near you. What livestock and crops are evident?
- List on a piece of paper the agricultural goods you discover. Talk with a farmer or do an internet search to learn more about them. What are they used for? What products do they become? Where are they shipped? How are they grown or raised?
- Make a simple recipe featuring at least one of the foods produced in your area. Maybe it’s an apple pie with apples from a nearby orchard or a cheese quesadilla with locally sourced
