Baby in the Mirror

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to have awareness of their body.

Materials Needed:

  • Mirror

Participants: This activity is intended for adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. Hold your baby in front of a mirror.
  2. Point to body parts and facial features and name them as you go – eyes, nose, arms, etc.
  3. Step away from the mirror and say, “Where did the baby go?”
  4. Move back in front of the mirror and say, “There is the baby!”

Repeat for as long as your child is engaged and interested.
