Alphabet Play Dough

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use hands and fingers to explore and interact with the environment, as well as demonstrating knowledge of print and the alphabet.

Materials Needed:

  • Play Dough
  • Plastic knife

Participants: This activity is intended for independent play and adult/child interaction.

Directions:

  1. Show your child how to use your hands to roll play dough into a long snake.
  2. Cut the snake into various lengths.
  3. Form the pieces into letters of the alphabet. Make your child’s name or other words.
