Message from Bright Horizons CEO Stephen Kramer to Employees about the Tragedy in Thousand Oaks

Thousand Oaks

November 8, 2018

A message from Bright Horizons CEO Stephen Kramer:

Bright Horizons Family,

We woke up this morning to yet another nightmare.  My heart is aching for the families, friends and all of those whose lives were cut short and those who have been irreparably wounded by last night’s shooting in Thousand Oaks, California.  This includes members of our own Bright Horizons family from the Camp Amgen Center who witnessed the tragedy and have loved ones who were caught in the line of fire. They need to know they have a family – 30,000 strong – that is here to love and support them through this time.

We cannot allow this senseless violence to become our new normal. We cannot allow ourselves to feel helpless when people’s lives are at risk while they are simply enjoying a night out with friends, attending school, or praying at their place of worship.

At Bright Horizons we have a mission to make a lasting difference in the world around us. As you do your work today, and every day, continue to do it with passion and with purpose. Carry in your heart and in your mind our Bright Horizons colleagues in Southern California.  You have the power to make change, and we have the power to make a difference together.

With deepest sympathy,

Stephen
