Linda Mason Honored with Vision Award by AIM

Watertown, Mass. May 2017- On Friday, May 5, 2017, Linda Mason, Chairwoman and Founder of Bright Horizons Family Solutions, was honored by the Associated Industries of Massachusetts (AIM) as the recipient of a 2017 Vision Award. AIM named Linda Mason as an award recipient for her unique contribution to the economy and citizens of Massachusetts by forging a global trusted presence as a resource for employers and their workers seeking to address an increasingly complex array of work-life issues.

When reflecting on the founding of Bright Horizons for the awards ceremony, Linda Mason recalled, “Looking back, this was probably an idea before its time; this was the mid 80’s when we were witnessing one of the most sociological revolutions of our life time, which was the entrance of mothers of young children into the workforce, all needing child care. It took a prized Vice President who left and didn’t come back because she couldn’t find child care for senior management to realize this is a business and employment need,” said Mason. “We hire and find the best child care professionals. People join us because they are passionate about children. Everything centers around advocating for children, and caring for children. There is just so much passion for what we do and I am most proud of that, amazing culture.”

Today, more than thirty years old, Bright Horizons has grown to become a leading provider of early education and preschools, employer-sponsored child care, back-up care, educational advisory services and other work/life solutions working with over 1,100 employers. The company operates more than 1,000 child care centers in the U.S., the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, India, and Canada. In Massachusetts, Bright Horizons employs more than 2,100 people in Massachusetts and more than 30,000 worldwide.
