Putting the fun back into snack time!

Snack time just got a whole lot more entertaining for your children, especially with these fun recipes featured in a recent Redbook slideshow, compiled by Jane Bianchi. These creative concoctions go way beyond “ants on a log,” yet still incorporate wholesome ingredients that you most likely already have in your refrigerator or pantry.

Rookie Mom, a  blogger on the Bright Horizons The Family Room blog, contributed a favorite recipe to this RedBook piece that she often whips-up for her on-the-go toddler: Greek yogurt-and chocolate-covered strawberries. Rookie Mom (and her son!) loves this sweet treat, which features protein-packed Greek yogurt, antioxidant-rich strawberries, and cocoa powder.

Some other favorite recipes from this slideshow include the bell pepper octopus snack, caprese kabobs and crispy apple-wiches.

You can check out the article for these recipes and how to make snack time fun for your little ones.
