Bright Horizons Chosen to Manage Creche Child Development Center

[Omaha, NE May June 14, 2012] – Bright Horizons Family Solutions® has been chosen to manage the historic Creche Child Development Center on 3713 North 52nd Street in Omaha. Bright Horizons® is a leading provider of child care and early education and will work to build on the popular and important program that cares for children and families in the Omaha community.

“We are very pleased to partner with Bright Horizons to manage our program, which has been a mainstay of the Omaha community for more than a century,” said Sheila Wrobel, President of the Creche Board of Directors. “We have accomplished a great deal as an organization and we have made a difference in the lives of so many children. We are excited about the future with Bright Horizons and the broad range of expert knowledge and resources they bring. Working with Bright Horizons will allow our teachers and staff to make an even bigger impact on the children in our care and their future educational success.”

Since opening more than 120 years ago as a home for orphaned children, Creche has been dedicated to supporting the positive future development of the children and families in Omaha. After becoming a child care center in 1970, the Board broadened the facility’s longstanding commitment to children and its nurturing philosophy with the goal of helping each child develop a healthy self-image and an enthusiasm for learning. The center provides early care and education for children in the community and gives children who might not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to learn and grow in an early education setting, which ultimately gives them a greater chance at success in school and life.

“We are very proud to work with the Creche Board of Directors, who are so committed to not only the children and families they serve but also to the good of the broader community,” said Bright Horizons CEO David Lissy. “We look forward to building on the program at the Creche Child Development Center and to creating a warm, caring, educational, and dynamic place for Omaha’s children to learn, grow, and thrive.”

The center will maintain its hours of operation of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and will continue to provide care for children six weeks through elementary school-age.

Bright Horizons will operate the Creche center as it does each of its programs, according to the highest standards of excellence as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Bright Horizons curriculum empowers children to be confident and successful lifelong learners. The curriculum places a strong emphasis on the development of language, math, science, and social skills incorporating the key elements that contribute to a child’s readiness for school and academic success.
