Bright Horizons Recognizes Clients Named to "Working Mother 100 Best Companies" List

Bright Horizons Family Solutions®, the world's leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, early education, and work/life solutions, congratulates its 84 employer clients that have been named to the 29th annual list of "100 Best Companies for Working Mother" by Working Mother magazine. For the third consecutive year, Bright Horizons clients take the top ten spots.

"We are honored to partner with so many companies that make it a priority to implement programs that support and promote not only working mothers but working fathers," said Bright Horizons Chief Executive Officer David Lissy. "Enlightened companies know that the foundation for successful, performance-driven and sustainable businesses is built on a workplace culture that supports employees and their responsibilities and interests both in and out of the office."

The 2014 Working Mother 100 Best Companies list recognizes companies for their outstanding leadership in establishing policies, programs and corporate culture that support working moms, including child care, flexible work arrangements, paid parental leave and advancement of women. Companies are also measured on access to and usage of family-friendly programs.

Carol Evans, President of Working Mother Media said, "The Working Mother 100 Best Companies are the leaders in the advancement of women by supporting their need to integrate family and work successfully. We are thrilled to honor the U.S. companies that put words into action and build family-friendly cultures on the foundation of thoughtful policies and effective programs. Women now make up 50% of our workforce. We need to make sure they have the support to be outstanding moms as well as great employees."

In June 2014, Bright Horizons released the Modern Family Index, a new study of working mothers and fathers across the U.S. that explores what it means to be a working parent today. The study revealed that while much has changed about how parents approach family obligations, many employees still feel like they can't be honest with their supervisors about family responsibilities and many feel that family responsibilities can be detrimental to their career.  However, the survey showed that those who feel supported by their employer report stronger loyalty to their employer.
