I joined EdAssist as an Academic Coach in 2010 after working with traditional college aged students for nearly ten years at Northeastern University.

As an Academic Advisor and Head of Transfer Programs first in the College of Business and then in the College of Arts and Sciences, I was able to help undergraduate students carve out their best path to success and make the most of their time on campus. This began at new student orientation, where my main role was to help them feel connected and engaged and choose classes that were meaningful and sparked joy. I also taught a course for undecided students every semester to help them hone in on a future major that would fulfill them personally and professionally. It was incredibly rewarding to support students through this exciting and challenging time in their lives.

I came to EdAssist in 2010 and was the twelfth employee to join the company when it was in its earliest days. It was invigorating to be part of shaping the educational experience for client employees who were balancing a full-time job – and often a family – with fitting in education. As someone who earned my own graduate degree while managing work and an internship, I am extremely passionate about simplifying the process for them. I love that the employees I advise are motivated by not only their own academic and career goals, but by becoming role models for family members, friends, and colleagues.

Recently, I had the pleasure of helping an employee find a graduate program after assisting him with an undergraduate program more than ten years ago. Since the first time we spoke, he’s had two children, the original company he worked for was bought by another company we partner with, and he’s had multiple promotions. Those full circle moments are why I love what I do!
