Dr. Marti Erickson

Marti Erickson, PhD: In a long career at the University of Minnesota, Marti served as founding director of the Children, Youth & Family Consortium, director of the Irving B. Harris Training Programs in Children’s Mental Health, and co-chair of the President’s Initiative on Children, Youth & Families.

Marti specializes in linking research, practice, and policy in the areas of parent-child attachment, child abuse prevention, and children’s mental health. Some highlights of Marti’s career include leading Vice President Al Gore’s nonpartisan family policy initiative, Family Re-Union, throughout the 1990s and co-leading a child rights training initiative in Tanzania (East Africa) from 2008 to 2011.
