Play Dough Cars

This activity promotes development and learning by encouraging children to use hands and fingers to explore and interact with the environment.

Materials Needed:

  • Toy vehicles
  • Playdough
  • Rolling pins or kitchen tools with no sharp edges

Participants: This activity is intended for independent play.

Directions:

  1. Step 1: Give your child a small ball of play dough.
  2. Step 2: Show her how to roll or flatten the dough.
  3. Step 3: Encourage your child to push toy vehicles over the dough, making different tracks. Which ones are the same? Which ones are different?

Learn More: Use kitchen tools to make different tracks. Show your child how to squish and shape the dough. How else can you use the dough?
