Bright Horizons’ core business is employer-sponsored care. They were founded more than 30 years ago and now partner with more than 1,000 employers across the U.S., as well as in Europe, Canada, and India. Their client list includes more than three-fourths of the companies on Working Mother magazine’s “100 Best” list. In addition, their client list includes more than half of those named to FORTUNE magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.” Bright Horizons also has been named to the FORTUNE list 19 times. Bright Horizons is an organization recognized for ethics, collaboration, community service, and excellence in the child care industry. They have extensive experience with opening new centers and creating wonderful places for children.

Bright Horizons plans to open an initial interest period on September 14, 2023. If you are interested in enrolling your child(ren), you will need to fill out the initial interest form located on the center website after the Family Information Sessions are held. Demand will be assessed between October 2 and October 13 and families will be contacted by a Bright Horizons representative to discuss enrollment or wait list status. If demand exceeds availability, a lottery will be held for all interested families received by September 30. If offered a space at the center, families will be asked to submit all family information and pay the $175 registration fee per family through the Bright Horizons Family Information Center by end of day, October 17 (this applies only to the initial interest lottery period). If a family does not receive a space at the center, they will have the opportunity to join the waitlist by submitting all family information and paying a $175 registration fee per family through the Bright Horizons Family Information Center. More information about the enrollment process will be available at the family information sessions.

Tuition is paid through Automated Clearing House and is due on 25th day of the prior month. Example: September monthly tuition will be due August 25. Arkansas School Readiness Assistance (child care vouchers) are now accepted. *Eligibility for the Arkansas School Readiness Assistance is not determined by Bright Horizons, and is dependent on factors such as, but not limited to, state residency, income, employment/education endeavors, and child(ren)’s age. Please speak to our site directly to determine next steps.

The length of time will vary depending on the size of the waitlist and the ages of the children. Bright Horizons will send periodic communications to keep you informed of your status on the waitlist and will do everything they can to ensure you are offered a space as soon as it becomes available. Families may decline an offer and maintain their current position on the waitlist once. After the second decline, their name will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist.

If you are no longer employed at UAMS, your last day of employment is the last day you can utilize the center.

Part-time care is not provided at this time.

No, a sibling discount will not be offered.

The center has a capacity for 198 children and will serve children ages 6 weeks through 5 years.

Bright Horizons works to recruit and hire the highest quality teachers. Their staff are nurturers as well as educators who encourage learning through exploration and partnership with parents. They’re trained to deliver the highest standard of care. All candidates undergo a thorough screening, including a Bright Horizons enhanced background check and state-required background checks. All teachers must meet state educational licensing and additional center requirements.

The tuition rates are based on your annual household income and the age of your child. UAMS employees who fall into one of the discounted bands will be required to bring their tax return information to the center annually to confirm their income. If you do not wish to provide your tax return information, you will be charged at the highest rate for that age group.

Annual Household Income Annual Household Income Annual Household Income
  Up to $85k $85k-$110k $110k & up
Infant $875 $919 $1,011
Toddler $875 $919 $1,011
Twos $875 $919 $1,011
Preschool/K-Prep $820 $861 $947

Bright Horizons’ successful core curriculum, World at Their Fingertips, will be used at the center. To learn more about the Bright Horizons curriculum, please visit brighthorizons.com/early-education-preschool/proven-approach

Age Group Teacher-to-Child Ratio Class Size Number of Classes
Infant 1:4 8 3
Toddler 1:5 10 3
Twos 1:7 14 3
Preschool 1:11 22 3
K-Prep 1:!2 12 2

The ratios at the center are designed to support one-on-one interactions between the teachers and children, an in- depth understanding by the teachers of each child’s needs, and the formulation of consistent caregiving routines based on the teachers’ knowledge of each child. These teacher-to-child ratios also support enhanced development, particularly language development.

Families will be required to provide notice of intent to withdraw 30 days in advance of the last day of attendance.

In addition to the tuition, you will be required to pay the following:

  • Registration Fee: A registration fee of $175 per family is due within 2 business days of receiving an enrollment offer.

  • Enrollment Deposit: An enrollment deposit equal to one month’s tuition will be due within 5 business days for families who have been offered a space at the center and have paid their registration fee. The enrollment deposit will be applied to the first month of tuition. If a family chooses not to enroll their child after accepting the enrollment offer, the enrollment deposit will be forfeited.

  • Annual Re-registration Fee: A $125 fee per family will be required each subsequent year to cover annual administrative and licensing fees.

Bright Horizons offers many resources to support families’ efforts to nurture their children’s development, be actively involved in their education, and balance work/life demands. See www.brighthorizons.com/family-resources for more details on these tools.

The center will be open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It will remain open year-round and will close only on the days listed on the Center’s Calendar schedule that will be shared upon enrollment.

The center is expected to open Spring 2024 contingent upon receipt of an operating license from the state licensor.

Tuition will be billed and collected monthly.
