  • Former admissions officer at Johnson State College

Background: I was hired by College Coach with 16 years of college admissions experience. I started my career as an admissions counselor for Johnson State College. Soon after that, I served as associate director at Drexel University, where I was also the athletic liaison between the admissions office and coaches. In addition, I spent a few years at Drexel working with transfer students, reviewing applications, and developing articulation agreements with area colleges. Moving to Swarthmore College, I served for eight years as an associate dean of admissions and again as the athletics liaison. My years at Swarthmore in what I call “hyper-selective” admissions is where I gained much of the experience I use to help me guide students in putting together the strongest application possible.

I have worked with students interested in:
  • Science
  • Technology
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Pre-med
  • Accelerated medical - BS/MD
  • Pre-dentistry
  • Accelerated dental - BS/DDS
  • Nursing
  • Pre-veterinary
  • Physical therapy
  • Pre-law

  • Research universities
  • Military/Service academies
I have also worked with:
  • Athletes
  • International students
  • Students with learning differences
  • Non-traditional students
  • Transfer students
  • First-generation students

Why I joined Bright Horizons: I joined College Coach because I want to help 100% of the people I work with find their way successfully through this process. I love the “I GOT IN!!!!!!” college acceptance texts in the spring. At Swarthmore, less than 20 percent of the kids I worked with had the desired result. Disappointing more than 80 percent of the students that applied to Swarthmore year after year wasn’t a good feeling. Now I help students and their parents figure out what they need to do and to discover that this process is not as daunting as they thought. There also is so much misinformation that surrounds this process; it is fun to help families parse fact from fiction and figure out what aspects of this process actually apply to them. My experience as an admissions consultant at College Coach has been so much more rewarding.

Hobbies: Sailing, reading, hiking, exercising, coaching, snowboarding
