Background: I was one of those high school students who really enjoyed the college discovery process – especially reading the Fiske guide and visiting college campuses. I enjoyed passing along my knowledge to friends looking to add to their college lists, but I did not realize that I could make a rewarding career out of admissions until after college. I began my professional career at Stanford University on the Diversity Outreach team, where I helped the admissions officers coordinate diversity events and outreach. From there I earned my masters from Columbia University’s Teachers College and began reading applications for Columbia’s undergraduate admissions office. I then joined Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons as the director of admissions, overseeing the entire medical school admissions process, including recruiting, application review, interview days, and admitted student recruitment and events. After relocating to the West coast, I became the director of enrollment management at the University of San Francisco, also recruiting and reviewing applications for the undergraduate admissions team. Most recently I was the senior director at Stanford Medicine, where I again oversaw the entire medical school admissions process.

I have worked with students interested in:

  • Science
  • Pre-med
  • Pre-dentistry
  • Nursing
  • Pre-veterinary
  • Ivy League
  • Large state schools
  • Small liberal arts colleges
  • Religiously affiliated schools
  • Research universities
  • Graduate programs
Why I joined Bright Horizons:
Throughout my time in admissions, the two aspects of my job that I enjoyed the most were talking to students about the college process and reading applications. I really loved meeting with students to provide information, not just about my school, but also about the college process in general. When reading applications I felt honored to get to know the student better and to discover the fit with my school. In joining College Coach, I get to bring those two things together in a meaningful way. The college process is such an exciting time to learn more about yourself and what you want for your future. You are also making one of the first big decisions of your life. I want to pass along my enthusiasm by empowering students to take control of the process and find the school that is their best fit.
