• Poster board or cardboard

How to Do this Activity

Start by taking or drawing pictures together of common chores you want him to accomplish. One example might be, “Throw away food when you’re done with dinner.” Have your child take a picture of or draw food and the trash can. Repeat with additional chores. Print photos or cut out illustrations. Then, make a chart for him to follow out of poster board or cardboard. Work together to write sentences and leave blank spots for the pictures — for example: “When you’re done with ______ (add photo of dinner), then ______ (photo of trashcan).” Attach the pictures with glue or tape and hang the chart in a prominent place.
