One of the first things you notice when you walk into any Bright Horizons location is women…

There are a lot of us.

The XX Factor is pretty big around here – on frontlines, in boardrooms, corner offices.

It’s something we’re pretty proud of (and for the record – we’re pretty proud of our male colleagues, too!).

So let’s just say the news that we’ve been named one of Fortune’s 2019 Best Workplaces for Women

We are eXXtatic!

“I am proud that our employees have earned us a spot on this list for the second year in a row as recognition of our commitment to supporting women,” said Mary Lou Burke Afonso, our chief operating officer who’s one of a large group of accomplished Bright Horizons women leaders that also includes our CDO, our CHRO, our CFO, and our CMO.

“That women represent a majority on both our board of directors and our senior leadership team is a natural outgrowth and representation of nurturing and recruiting the best talent out there,” says Mary Lou. “We are proud of our strong record of women in leadership at every level throughout the organization, and we are proud to support other employers as they strive to achieve the same.”

So a great workplace for women? We already knew that.

But it’s nice that other people know it, too.

Thanks for the honor, Fortune! And an extra shoutout to all of our clients on the list. No surprise to us that they’re great workplaces for women, too.

Congratulations!!
