Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Grandchildren of Argonne employees are eligible to enroll at the center.

Yes.  We serve the children a morning snack at 8:30 am, lunch at 11:30am and an afternoon snack at 3pm.  Our menus follow the guidelines from Partnership for Healthier America that include meals & snacks with vegetarian options & have a variety of fresh vegetables & fruits, low fat meats, real cheeses & whole grains. We have a four week rotating menu which is updated twice a year.

For children with allergies, religious observances, or who are following a specific menu for health reasons, the center can accomodate most circumstances by providing an acceptable substitute.  If the center is unable to provide substitute, appropriate supplements must be provided by parents.

We are located on Cass Avenue one mile south of the main entrance to Argonne National Laboratory.
If traveling from Interstate 55, you would exit Cass Avenue South.  While on Cass Avenue south you would pass the main entrance of the laboratory which would be on your right.  After one mile, you would make a left hand turn into the Argonne Park area.  The main center building (952) is the larger building on the left. Visitors and parents can park in the circle drive.

A Rich and Rewarding Childhood

  • Happy days
  • Wonderful relationships
  • A World of experience

My Bright Day replaces traditional paper Daily Experience Sheets with a tool that can be accessed via smartphones, email and the web,  allowing you to view information about your child’s day electronically and in real-time.

This initiative gives visibility into your child’s activities and care information during the day – including photos and/or videos. It makes it easier to provide drop off details, allowing you to focus on transitioning your child to the classroom. Parents can access My Bright Day via their Android or iOS smartphone at any time to see how their child's day is going. At the end of the day your child's Daily Experience Sheet will be emailed to you and made available on the smartphone application.

This depends on your child’s age, temperament, and level of maturity. General tips for preparing for the first day of child care include:

  • Developing a relationship with your child’s teacher and keeping communication open
  • Labeling all items
  • Making sure your child has the essentials: bottles, extra clothes, diapers, blanket, and more
  • Talking about the first day with your child
  • Setting expectations for the new morning routine
  • Getting ahead of separation anxiety by creating a “goodbye” routine together

Additional information on our research-backed curriculum can be found here. To find a center near you, click Find a Center in the top right corner of the Bright Horizons home page.

Please submit an inquiry to your center(s) of interest with a request for tuition information. We recommend scheduling a visit at the same time (this can be done on the same form).

Safety is our top priority, and it’s part of our everyday routine. All of our centers follow expert-informed health, safety, and security policies and allergy protocols. Additionally, health, safety, and wellness are built right into our curriculum, and our classrooms and spaces are safely designed for learning and exploration.
