Bright Horizons Named to FORTUNE Magazine's 2014 List of "100 Best Companies to Work For" in America

WATERTOWN, Mass., Jan. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright Horizons Family Solutions®, a leading provider of high-quality child care, early education and other services designed to help employers and families address the challenges of work and life, today announced that it has been named for the 15th time as one of FORTUNE magazine's “100 Best Companies to Work For.”

"We are constantly humbled by our employees' unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality of care and service to the families and employers we serve.  That commitment allows all of us to come to work with a shared sense of pride and fulfillment," said Bright Horizons Chief Executive Officer David Lissy.  "Our employees all bring unique talents and perspectives to their jobs each day as they carry out our mission, and we are thrilled that FORTUNE has once again recognized the unique culture that the Bright Horizons family has collectively built."

"We couldn't make this list without our thousands of employees around the country - from the teachers and educators in our centers to our home office staff - and their ongoing commitment to excellence in everything they do," said Bright Horizons President and Chief Operating Officer Mary Ann Tocio.  "Their honest dedication to supporting our families, clients and each other makes us who we are, and we are delighted that FORTUNE has recognized them again this year for all of their hard work and commitment to one another."

Bright Horizons is committed to setting the standard for workplaces that support employees both personally and professionally with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to grow.  In 2013, Bright Horizons was recognized several times for its workplace culture and in November was named number one on Boston Globe's "Top Places to Work" list for the third time in four years.  Bright Horizons also received Workforce Magazine's"Optimas Award" for innovation for programs developed to support employees' total well-being.

Each year, two-thirds of the total score for the FORTUNE "100 Best Companies to Work For" list comes from responses to a random employee survey, measuring such things as employee attitudes toward management, job satisfaction and camaraderie within the organization.  The remaining one-third of the score is based on an evaluation of each company's demographic makeup, benefits and compensation programs, and culture.

"The companies on this list understand the role that people and culture play in their success," offered China Gorman, CEO of Great Place to Work.  "A great workplace culture and high-trust work environment win these companies not just a spot on this list, but buoys their overall success in an increasingly competitive marketplace."

The complete list and related stories are available now at www.greatplacetowork.com and will appear in the February 3 issue of FORTUNE.
