Primary Room

We have two exceptional primary classrooms. Each classroom instructor is a certified A.M.I. teacher with years of experience. We are blessed at Montessori on the Mall to have such wonderful teachers who not only guide the children through the Montessori-Curriculum but encourage social and emotional growth as well. Daily, both of our teachers work with the children in the areas of language and math development, cultural awareness (both are Bilingual in Spanish), sensory enhancement, geography, fine motor skills and art experiences. The skills the children have been introduced to in the toddler and mini rooms are fine-tuned and taken to a greater level in the primary classrooms. This is the time and place when the children really shine.

In our primary rooms, we believe in the three year cycle. This cycle allows a child (ages 3-6) to continually be challenged both educationally and socially over a constant three year period. This period of continual education allows the child to truly become familiar with all of the classroom materials so that he/she may daily choose what they would like to work with as well as encouraging the child to develop strong relationships with his/her peers.

All of our classrooms incorporate music, art and movement into our daily routines. We believe in teaching the whole child through academics and sensory experiences such as these. Children enjoy being able to experiment, hands-on, with different textures as well as creating sounds with a variety of instruments.

Last of all we welcome our parents to regularly scheduled " Parent Education Meetings."
