A consortium back-up child care center, typically located in major metropolitan areas, enables multiple employers to reserve supply at a location near the work site and deliver a valuable resource to employees in these high-demand areas. In a full-service child care center, space is secured within the program for back-up care. Employers who join these programs can offer back-up child care as a benefit to their employees without requiring a stand-alone center.
