Bright Horizons conducts a comprehensive background check on all prospective employees and frequent visitors. The background check consists of a county criminal record check for the past seven years performed in all counties that a person has lived, worked or attended school. In addition to the county criminal search , a sex offender search, OFAC search and a social security verification trace are also conducted. For all location employees, program licensing background checks required by the state are also performed.
All Bright Horizons staff are trained regularly in CPR, even if not required by the state. First Aid is taught as required by state licensing agency/regulations so that you can feel confident that your child is safe and receiving the best care possible at our center.
Yes, Bright Horizons has an open door policy. You are encouraged to visit your child anytime.
Yes. Nestled in uptown Charlotte, we offer a unique playground experience for children of all ages to play, learn, and explore. Our playground contains climbing structures for twos and preschoolers, as well as push toys for toddlers and infants. Prop boxes for dramatic play, sensory tables, and sand tables are also available for all age groups so that teachers can extend their lessons to the great outdoors.
Located on the 10th level of the garage, and with a spectacular view, our playground offers a unique learning experience for children that include tall buildings, cranes doing construction, airplanes, helicopters, and more. Our teachers use these opportunities to educate children about the world around them.
Hot healthy meals and nutritional snacks are provided daily free of charge. We have a full service kitchen and staff trained in children's nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children.
In addition, we promote family style dining during meal time as a way to further develop children's self-help skills in preparation for school and their next stages of development.
We also use Backyard Produce company for our fruits and vegetables. This company delivers organic produce that is in season weekly.
Yes, As part of our healthy meals program, children are served cow's milk daily. Water is served throughout the day. Rest assured you child will receive nutritious meals, snacks, and beverages to help them grow strong.
We suggest you register with Bright Horizons. You can select up to 3 locations to be registered at, including the center you are most interested in. By registering, you are confirming your strong interest in all 3 centers. We will add you to our wait list and you will be offered a space as soon as one becomes available. While waiting for a space to become available at your first choice location, many families will choose to enroll at their 2nd or 3rd choice temporarily until space becomes available at the center they are most interested in. In many centers, a child currently enrolled at a Bright Horizons location has priority over the general community so enrolling at another location will not only solve your care needs but will also give you additional priority in getting into your 1st preference. Our goal is to accommodate families as soon as space allows. During the entire process, we will keep in touch with you regarding your status.
We encourage any family interested in center information, regular updates and invitations to the many events we are planning, to contact us.
We have a parent conference call every month where parents can ask questions, make suggestions, and learn about present and upcoming center events.
Each month the center as a whole or individual classrooms host events where parents can participate.
Throughout the year, we observe nine different holidays. These holidays include Martin Luther King Day, Presiden's Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Christmas Day, July 4th, and Thanksgiving Day. During these observations, the center will be closed.

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has developed standards to define and recognize quality child care programs. In order to be accredited, a child care program must meet a variety of strict criteria, including having a well-trained faculty, good staff-child ratios and group sizes, and a comprehensive curriculum, as well as meet stringent health and safety standards. The program must also provide meaningful opportunities for family involvement.
Tuition varies by center, schedule and by individual classroom. To find out more information about tuition, please contact the center directly.
Our full-time program services children beginning with ages 6 weeks to 5 years. Our Back Up program services children 6 weeks to 5 years old.
We understand that the health and safety of your child is of the up-most importance. It's extremely important to us as well, which is why we have stringent guidelines in place to ensure all children are safe and healthy while in our care.
Secure Entrance-With a secured entrance, access to the center is restricted through codes, so you can rest assured that your child is safe.
Daily Cleaning Practices-Our center is cleaned daily by a professional janitorial service and all toys are properly sanitized in accordance with licensing regulations.
We are open from 7:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
Our teachers are nurturing and passionate child development professionals who love and understand children. We seek out teachers who are passionate about early childhood education and development and help them foster a rewarding career through continuing education. Bright Horizons offers an exclusive University to all teachers providing courses of learning on various topics from Child Development: Curriculum and Caring-Learning Environment to Enrichment: Movement Matters.
We welcome you to schedule a visit to explore all the center has to offer. Visits are normally conducted on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and at 1:00 p.m. in order to ensure someone is available to show you the facilities and to limit the amount of classroom interruptions for the children. As part of our safety procedures, all non-enrolled families must be escorted by a center staff when on the center premises. If none of these times work for you, please call or email the center to schedule an appointment that is more convenient. To schedule a visit contact us at 704-333-3513 or carillon@brighthorizons.com.

This depends on your child’s age, temperament, and level of maturity. General tips for preparing for the first day of child care include:
- Developing a relationship with your child’s teacher and keeping communication open
- Labeling all items
- Making sure your child has the essentials: bottles, extra clothes, diapers, blanket, and more
- Talking about the first day with your child
- Setting expectations for the new morning routine
- Getting ahead of separation anxiety by creating a “goodbye” routine together
Please submit an inquiry to your center(s) of interest with a request for tuition information. We recommend scheduling a visit at the same time (this can be done on the same form).
Safety is our top priority, and it’s part of our everyday routine. All of our centers follow expert-informed health, safety, and security policies and allergy protocols. Additionally, health, safety, and wellness are built right into our curriculum, and our classrooms and spaces are safely designed for learning and exploration.
