Award Winner Profiles

Cameron - Director, Division 4

What is the most satisfying part of being a director?
“Growing teachers has to be the most satisfying because amazing teachers provide wonderful care and education for children. I love helping teachers learn how to create a culture, and understanding that environments don’t mean fancy toys and expensive materials. My most memorable moments are around teachers having 'ah-ha' moments and becoming mentors themselves.”

Deborah - Regional Manager, Back-Up Division

What is the best part about being a regional manager?
“The best part is the opportunity to participate in the development of clients’ dreams, which ultimately meet the needs of families in crisis. Not only do I get to work with clients, but I am surrounded by a great group of professionals in the field of early childhood. I get the opportunity to live my passion and develop as a leader in diverse settings.”

Denise - Manager of Recruitment and National Branding

What makes Bright Horizons a unique company in which to build a career?
"I believe it’s the culture of caring that flows through the entire company that sets Bright Horizons apart. Everyone who works for Bright Horizons is committed to children, believes in what Bright Horizons does, and continually gives of themselves. The caring comes from the top down, and that is what makes you want to stay and do the best you can do.”

Lisa - Principal, Schools Division

Tell us about your journey at Bright Horizons?
“My journey began in 1999 as a preschool teacher. In 2005 an opportunity came to teach in an elementary classroom in the morning and work as the principal in the afternoon. The transition was very exciting, and I learned so much that year. In 2006, I moved to a full-time principal position. I love my job as principal and I enjoy going to work every day and getting into the classrooms as much as possible.”

Carole - Manager, Controls and Procedures

Carole is the hub for the day-to-day activities within the Construction and Design Department, managing the department’s controls and processes. She provided leadership for the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s benefit golf tournament for two years — they raised $24,000 during the 2005 event, which fully funded an extreme makeover of the Veritas Bright Space™ in New York City. Carole personally devoted a great deal to the Bright Space, traveling to New York several times to help with the renovation and setup.

Joseph - BHU Project Coordinator

Always keeping the needs of the customers at the forefront, Joe and the helpdesk team implemented new ways of providing information and guidance to Bright Horizons University course participants. Joe is known for his friendly and empathetic manner, and ultimately, for being a problem solver. As BHU continues to expand and evolve, we know Joe’s Bright Horizons spirit will inspire many of us to think “why not?”
