Bright Horizons is Pleased to Welcome Teddies Nurseries Families and Staff to Bright Horizons
Friday, May 01, 2009
Bright Horizons Family Solutions is pleased to welcome Teddies Nurseries families and staff to Bright Horizons. We are very excited about the addition of the Teddies Nurseries to our family and to building on the outstanding programme that they have developed. We admire the wonderful, nurturing child care that has been provided for children and families throughout the years and by joining together, we have great potential for a bright future of continuing on that mission of caring for children and preparing them for a lifelong love of learning. We believe that excellent child care replicates much of a good and loving home, where caring adults nurture children and help them grow and learn. Our role is to work in partnership with parents in providing care and education for each child and we look forward to doing that with the staff and families of Teddies Nurseries. Bright Horizons Opens San Francisco’s First Combined Full-Service and Back-Up Child Care and Early Education Center
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Saves Businesses Money, Essential Part of Recruitment and Retention Strategy San Francisco employers are losing millions of dollars in productivity each year when their employees are not able to come to work because of a break down in child care. When school is closed, a nanny is sick, or other child care arrangements fall through, parents are often forced to take the day off from work. In fact, U.S. businesses lose $3 billion in productivity each year due to child care breakdowns. With the opening of the Bright Horizons at 2nd Street high-quality child care and early education center, local businesses have a new solution in town to eliminate the cost of lost productivity while increasing the recruitment and retention of key employees. Bright Horizons just opened a state-of-the-art child care center at 2nd Street and Harrison, right off of the 80 Freeway. The new center offers full-service and back-up child care and education for children ages six weeks to 12 years old. Local businesses can sponsor memberships at the center for their employees without making a bricks and mortar financial investment. Recent studies show that 90% of parents using full-service child care centers say that access to a work site center positively impacts their ability to be productive at work. Moreover, 96% of back-up care users say that employer-sponsored back-up child care would be important if they were to change jobs. Local businesses have signed on with Bright Horizons to offer their employees a convenient and high-quality child care program at the new center. “Our employees have consistently asked us for a solution to their child care needs,” said Eric Wells, Founder, CEO, and President of Softagon. “We are excited to sponsor the new Bright Horizons child care center and anticipate reduced absenteeism and higher recruitment, retention and productivity because our employees now have a safe place where their children can play and learn located right near the workplace.” Wells, like many of his employees, is using the center for full-service care for his own child.

Bright Horizons Recognized as one of the “Best Places to Work” by the Boston Business Journal
Friday, June 13, 2008
(June 13, 2008 - Watertown, MA) Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the world's leading provider of employer-sponsored child care, early education, and work/life solutions, has been recognized as one of 2008's "Best Places to Work" by the Boston Business Journal. We are honored to be recognized as a Best Place to Work in the New England area," said Bright Horizons Chief Executive Officer David Lissy. "Our mission to provide innovative work/life programs that help children, families, and employers work together to be their best succeeds only when our own employees have the supportive, respectful, and spirited work environment that helps ensure their own satisfaction, growth, and success in both their professional and personal lives." Bright Horizons Chief Human Resources Officer Dan Henry noted, "This important recognition reflects our commitment to our employees who bring passion, dedication, and drive every day to their work to provide children and their families with the very best care, education, and guidance. Creating work environments that support these talented professionals is not only an important business imperative, but it's an intrinsic part of our mission." The Best Places to Work list is based on surveys completed by employees who live and work in Massachusetts. The survey assesses employee opinions of work environment, work/life balance, job satisfaction, advancement opportunities, compensation, and benefits. This year's top ranking firms were chosen from 392 nominations, making it the largest program in the event's four year history. The 60 honorees will be profiled in a special supplemet to the Boston Business Journal on June 13

Reaching Beyond Our Borders Bright Horizons Teams with Mercy Corps to Aid Disaster Victims in China and Myanmar
Thursday, May 15, 2008
Bright Horizons has teamed up with our international relief partner, Mercy Corps, to aid victims of two of the world’s most devastating natural disasters to strike Asia. As many as 1.9 million people in Myanmar/Burma are desperate to survive since a cyclone hit last week. In China, thousands are grieving the loss of entire families and villages since a powerful earthquake struck. In both nations, families are struggling to find adequate shelter, food and medical care, and children are especially at risk. Linda Mason, Chairman and Founder of Bright Horizons and the Chairman of Mercy Corps Board of Directors has brought our two organizations together to make a difference in the face of disaster. Mercy Corps is one of the first humanitarian organizations to receive permission to serve victims in Myanmar/Burma and is on the ground there and in China providing aid to children and families in need. Members of the Bright Horizons family who want to reach out to aid are encouraged to please visit www.mercycorps.org/brighthorizons to learn how you can contribute.

Bright Horizons Congratulates Working Mother 100 Best
Monday, January 15, 2007
Bright Horizons Family Solutions salutes its 75 clients on Working Mother’s 2007 list of “100 Best Companies.” With Bright Horizons clients representing three-quarters of the overall list and eight of the companies recognized as the Top 10, it is clear that employer-sponsored child care and back-up care have become must-have benefits for employers who plan to lead the way in the recruitment and retention of the nation’s most talented women.
