Founded in 1986, headquartered in the United States, and conducting business in the U.S., the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, India, and Canada, Bright Horizons operates more than 750 child care centers worldwide and partners with more than 850 leading employers across nearly every industry.

Bright Horizons provides a complete family of employer solutions, including child care, back-up care for children and adults/elders, and educational advising for employees and their college-bound dependents. We also provide complete consulting services to assess, identify, and respond to work/life and dependent-care challenges among an organization’s employees.

The Bright Horizons Foundation for Children is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children and families. Our support programs serve at-risk children, instilling positive self-concepts and self esteem; providing nurturing, creative environments; and supporting and facilitating the development of strong families.

Bright Spaces^®: Special places for children

Bright Spaces are warm, enriching places in homeless shelters and community agencies where children and families in crisis can play, learn, and have fun. With partners from around the world - including Bright Horizons’ employees and clients, community agencies, and others - we've created more than 260 of these vibrant spaces, bringing much-needed joy to children in 38 states and four countries, and donating safe, educational, and stimulating areas in which families can connect and in which children can learn and play.

An independent, nonprofit organization, Horizons for Homeless Children (formerly The Horizons Initiative) was created in 1988 by the founders of Bright Horizons Family Solutions. The organization is dedicated to providing high-quality child care and educational services to homeless children and their families.

Bright Horizons back-up care provides families with a safety net for those days when regular arrangements fall through. Back-up care supplements, rather than replaces normal care arrangements and is a comforting emergency alternative when you need it most. Our programs offer back-up care for family members of all ages, from infants through elders, including adults and children with special needs.

Back-up care programs are provided most often through employers who sponsor care for their employees with dependent-care needs. We also provide drop-in or emergency child care to the community at select Bright Horizons child care centers.
